Het Aikikai Utrecht is ontstaan uit een sportcursus voor studenten, georganiseerd door Olympos, het sportcentrum van de Universiteit Utrecht. Naar aanleiding van de vooruitgang van de studenten en de wens om op een hoger niveau te trainen, hebben we begin 2010 besloten de groep om te vormen tot een onafhankelijke dojo, het Aikikai Utrecht, aangesloten bij de Dutch Aikikai Foundation. Naast wekelijkse trainingen neemt het Aikikai Utrecht actief deel aan zowel nationale als internationale Budo activiteiten. Docente Satomi Ishikawa, 3e dan Aikikai, is een gecertificeerd docente (ALMA) en bestuurslid van de Dutch Aikikai Foundation.

Inschrijving in de dojo gaat gepaard met lidmaatschap van de Dutch Aikikai Foundation, 25 euro (volwassenen) /15 (student) per jaar.

Aikikai Utrecht initially started as a sport course for students organized by Olympos, the sport centre affiliated to the University of Utrecht.
As students progressed and started to pursue higher level of training, in 2010, we decided to re-flame the group as an independent dojo as Aikikai Utrecht, as a member of Dutch Aikikai Foundation. In addition to the weekly trainings, Aikika Utrecht actively participates in both national and international Budo events.

The instructor Satomi Ishikawa, 3rd dan Aikikai, is a certified instructor (ALMA) and a board member of Dutch Aikikai Foundation.

You can experience basic Aikido movement, techniques and philosophy behind the art. No membership fee is required. If you decide to continue trainings after 8 weeks, you are supposed to be fully enrolled.
